About This Project

Brumer’s landscapes are not recognizable as particular geographic places Rather, they are fragments of nature and human existence recomposed as scenes, as mind and memory build associations: an arc of earth holds continents of flowers and rich soil and a reaching hand. These are not renderings of an actual landscape, but reimaginings that incorporate both randomness and narrative. Complex layering of hand-dyed textiles, silk-screened shapes and printed forms provide shape and depth.
